Dear Rotarian friends,
I want to share the weekly progress report of the Rotary club of Mount Abu from
14 to 21 July, 2010. the projects taken up in this period are as follows:-
a. we started this week with a picnic in jungle with the children of NAB PNM,
Rehabilitation Centre for the Blind, Mount Abu, on 16th July, the volunteers
from various countries i.e. Spain, South Korea, France, Austria, Finland also
joined us , this picnic was beeseh the rain Gods to bless Mount Abu for bousnty
of rains as for past few years it has not been sufficient and this year it has
been a cause of concern till now. It was matter of joy for us that it rained on
the same day and time in Mount Abu.
b. Rotary Club of Mount Abu invited the Ahmedabad Cyclist Club at mount Abu to
promote the eco tourism and adventure tourism in Mount Abu. Total 21 Cyclist
rode their advanced and sophisticated bicycles upto the height of the 1500
meters and reached Mount Abu on 18th July in the morning at 10:00 a.m. this
event was well covered by the local and national media. The report was on the
first page of Times of India, Ahmedabad and also on the sports page. It will
promote the new type of eco friendly and adventurous tourism in Mount Abu.
c. Rotary club of Mount Abu started plantation on 18 July, we planted trees on
the pilgrim road, the S.D.M. , Mount Abu Miss. Tina Soni(I.A.S.), D.F.O. Mount
Abu, Mr. C.p. singh and other officers and citizens joined us in the project. We
will continue planting trees in Mount Abu throughout rainy season.
These were the starting projects and we have to complete a long journey in the
leadership of our able president Rtn. Lalit Vora and vice president, Rtn.
