Ashish Desai, born on 25th May 1963, is a qualified Civil Engineer and PG Diploma Holder in Project Management from CEPT, Ahmedabad. His strengths are his simplicity & very high values of life that has led him to exceptionally at professional and social levels. Professionally he is with Nirma group since 25 years. He holds several responsibilities as Head of Corporate affairs of Nirma Group, Chief Engineer & Dean of Student Activity with prestigious Nirma University.

He has been associated in Executive capacities with various Associations and Affiliations such as Gujarat Institute of Civil Engineers and Architects, Ahmedabad Management Association, Furniture & Interior Designers Association Fl DA, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industries, National Safety council Gujarat Chapter, Public Relation Society of India Gujarat Chapter, Kalupur Comm. Co-op Bank Ltd. a Scheduled Bank, Ramakrishna Seva Samiti, Cancer Society of lndore [M.P.], Tuberculosis Society of Gujarat, Gujarat state Contract Labor Advisory Board, appointed by Gujarat State for three years.

Ashish Desai Joined Rotaract Club of Kankaria in year 1980. As president during Rotary year 1985-86, he won the Best President and Best Club award. As DRR in Rotary year 1989-90 of RI District 3050, he gave Dist theme "Each one Teach one" & received Best DRR award of South Asia in Rotasia at New Delhi by former Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Shivraj Patil. Joined Rotary in the year 1992 as member of Rotary Club of lndore Central, RI District 3040, subsequently transferred his membership in Rotary Club of Kankaria Ahmedabad, RI District 3050. One of the Best District Assemblies was hosted under his Presidentship in year 1999- 2000. He was Assembly Chairman in 2007- 08. He is the Trustee of the Charitable Trust of Rotary Club of Kankaria.

Ashish's District assignments include Governor's Special Representative - (GSR), District Secretary General 2000-01, GSE team leader, Assistant Governor, District Secretary Genral (Second time)-2004-05, Assistant District Trainer 2009-10. Ashish is level 7 Multiple Paul Harris Fellows.

His spouse Bina is Paul Harris Fellow & an active member of Rotary Club of Kankaria. She is actively associated as Project In charge with an NGO Visamo Kids Foundation. Son, Shashwat is pursuing his engineering and is the Charter President of Rotaract Club of SAL Institutes. Daughter, Nirja is pursuing architecture and is active with NASA.
