A member of the Rotary Club of Ambala since 1971, Yash has served Rotary with distinction
at club, district and international level. He has served Rotary in several assignments,
such as International Training Leader, Discussion Moderator, Group Study Exchange
Team Leader and committee Chair and task force member. Chairman for the 2006 Rotary
Institute for Zones 5 & 6a in Chandigarh.
A former member of the India National Polio Plus Committee for 14 years. He has
served as the Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator for Zones 4 & 6a comprising
of Northern Eastern Western Central India & Nepal.
Currently he is the R.I. Director Elect for 2011-13.
Yash is a benefactor and is also a recipient of the citation for "Meritorious
Service Award" from The Rotary Foundation. In recognition of his outstanding
non financial contribution to Polio Eradication within the region he is a recipient
of the Regional Service Award for a Polio Free World.
Yash is a second generation Rotarian, who earlier served as an executive officer
in the Merchant Navy. His father was the charter member of the Rotary club of Ambala
and served as District Governor in 1967-68.
He is the Chief Executive Officer of the family business of running an Automobile
Dealership, retailing passenger cars and commercial vehicles.
He is a member of various commerce bodies connected with road transportation, and
serves on the board of several educational institutions and is also a member of
the Rotary Society for the Hearing Impaired. Yash is married to Manju a past president
of the Inner Wheel Club and both are Major Donors to The Rotary Foundation.
